System-on-chip (SoC) with Arm® Cortex®-M0 and half-bridge driver
With our single-phase solution, MOTIX™ TLE985x 32-bit motor control SoC, Infineon provides a system-on-chip with smallest in class footprint. MOTIX™ TLE985x is built on 32-bit Arm® Cortex®-M0 core and integrates a gate driver, microcontroller, communication interface and power supply on a single chip. It is designed to address smart DC brushed motor control applications like HVAC blowers or auxiliary pumps and fans. The system solution increases efficiency using smart power on demand control, and a true mechatronic solution that places the electronic at the motor. As a result, the external control signal (LIN or simple PWM) to the motor control does not produce any unacceptable emissions that can disturb other electronic components in the car.
Highlights and benefits of MOTIX™ MCU (SoC) with integrated half-bridge driver
Enable cost and board space improvements: Our system-on-chip solution integrates data processing, actuation and sensing. The chip comes in a leadless VQFN package with 7 x 7 mm footprint and enables PCB space saving. The MOTIX™ TLE985x 32-bit motor control SoC with integrated half-bridge driver allows driving MOSFETs at VBATT ≥ 6 V with a low number of external components, providing a very cost-effective solution on a system level. It helps to reduce BOM cost.
MOSFET driver with adaptive control: The MOTIX™ TLE985x family has an adaptive control hardware implementation. This algorithm is able to compensate MOSFET parameter spread in the system by automatically adjusting gate current values as a reaction on timing measurement results. This allows an optimization of the system concerning EME (slow slew rates) and Pdiss (short dead times) simultaneously.
Enable high levels of system reliability: Extensive diagnostics and protections are embedded within the system-on-chip, more than a discrete approach can offer.
MOTIX™ MCU tool chain and design in support
MOTIX™ MCU | 32-bit motor control SoC solutions are supported by a complete development toolchain provided by Infineon and third party vendors.
