Proximity detection with CAPSENSE™
Capacitive proximity detection is widely adopted as it enables robust designs with low cost, high reliability, low power, sleek aesthetics, and seamless integration with existing user interfaces. Infineon’s CAPSENSE™ devices provide proximity-sensing capabilities based on self-capacitance capable of up to 20 cm sensing distance. Proximity sensing is key in battery powered application as it can be a gate keeper to wake up the system from low pwoer mode. Capacitive proximity can be used to developed various applications such as, wakeup from low power mode, proximity backlight, SAR sensing, capacitive proximity gestures.
