Power PROFET™ + 12/24/48V | Automotive Smart High-Side Switch
Lowest ohmic high-side smart power switches designed to drive high current loads up to 65 A
Power PROFET™ are single channel smart high Side Power Switches especially designed to drive high current loads up to 65 A in the automotive environment for applications like heaters, glow plugs, pumps and fans, where high energy capability is required. Embedded in different power packages (DPAK, D2PAK und TOLL) and featuring multichip technology, the Power PROFET™ family offers high current and energy capability in a scalable family.
With devices from 2.5 mOhm down to 0.6 mOhm Power PROFET™ / Power PROFET™ + 12 V and Power PROFET™ + 24/48 V are designed to drive high currents and challenging current profiles such as DC motor inrush at start-up, especially for under the hood applications.
The ability to drive high current loads makes Power PROFET™ very well adapted to replace electromechanical relays, fuses, and discrete circuits in power distribution and other applications in a 12 / 24 / 48 V board net.
All Power PROFET™ products are qualified for automotive applications according to AEC-Q100 and the new Power PROFET™ + family is additionally ISO 26262 ready.

The Power PROFET™ family offers the highest energy ratings ever specified for a PROFET™.
This family is ideal to address high current loads with fluctuating current profile (DC motors applications...) and are esspecially designed to manage high current and high energy for applications under the hood. In addition, the power packages allow enhanced thermal capability and repetitive inductive clamping.
Therefore the Power PROFET™ are the only scalable family of protected devices capable to replace relays & fuses from 20A up to 40A DC. They reduce power losses up to a factor of 2 compared to a relay.
Relay replacement through semiconductor contributes to the increase of safety through diagnosis. Power PROFETs are also immune to dust, shock and vibrations and therefore reduce maintenance. Furthermore they contribute to the increase of comfort through noiseless and smaller modules.
Thanks to their low resistance, Power PROFET™ are ideal to be designed-in under the hood where the ambient temperature is high.
Power PROFET™ also enable the decentralization of power distribution architecture in a larger scale.
Power PROFET™ are ideal to drive DC motors with high inrush current as vacuum pumps, fans, ventilators and wipers. They also have a high switching cycle robustness, which allows to drive the starter relay in a start stop system.
