About HITFET™+ 24V automotive smart low-side switches
Infineon's HITFET™+ 24V smart low-side switches are qualified and optimized for 24 V automotive – more specifically commercial, construction, and agricultural vehicles (CAV) – and industrial applications such as power steering systems, motor control, lighting, HVAC systems, and power distribution. The HITFET™+ 24V family offers single-channel devices with up to 50% shrinkage and better short-circuit robustness, among other additional and improved features compared to its predecessor family, Classic HITFET™ 24V.
HITFET™+ 24V devices offer an integrated protection function that safeguards against overcurrent, overtemperature, and short-circuit events. All HITFET™+ 24V devices have a latch thermal shutdown function, in which case a restart must be performed by the MCU. The overvoltage protection can be activated during load dump or inductive turn-off. Moreover, HITFET™+ 24V switches can drive applications with high switching speed requirements and have a dedicated STATUS signal for offering digital diagnosis.
HITFET™+ 24V automotive smart low-side switches product family
The HITFET™+ 12V portfolio comprises single-channel devices with an RDS(ON) 16 mΩ or 50 mΩ and nominal current from 4 A or 7 A in a TDSO-8 package. The family supports fast-switching applications with PWM up to 20 kHz.
HITFET™+ 24V design support
Infineon offers a range of design-in materials, which include application notes, evaluation boards, PCB design data, simulation models, and online simulations available on each product page in the "Design Support" section. In addition, we offer a dedicated tool suite for smart power switches and gate driver ICs for automotive power distribution.
Infineon’s smart power switches & gate driver tool suite supports system architects and hardware designers from idea to realization. This suite allows the user to select the right smart power switch or gate driver IC for a specific load using one of the “Finder & Selection” tools. Together with different “Simulation & Modeling” tools, various application scenarios can be simulated for the respective product. The results can be documented in the report tool and verified with the “Configuration” tools plus the corresponding evaluation boards.

The HITFET™+ 24V family is the new generation of smart low-side switches for automotive and industrial applications based on a SMART6 HV technology.
The family offers single channel devices in PG-TDSO-8 package, with a significant shrink compared to the existing Classic HITFET™ 24V portfolio (up to 50 percent shrink).
24V automotive and industrial applications such as resistive, inductive and capacitive loads limited by the maximal clamping energy and current capabilities of the device, or applications where fast switching capability is required (PWM up to 20kHz) e.g. vales.
The newest smart switches family HITFET™+ 24V inherited the sustained technological expertise of the previous families to achieve excellence.
In addition, you can be sure, when opting for HITFET™+ 24V, that you will find:
- Significant PCB savings, due to their smaller packages (up to 50 percent)
- Improved short circuit robustness thanks to the dynamic temperature protection
- Optimized balance between EMI and switching losses
Various support materials are offered by the Infineon:
