Cost-effective brushed DC windshield wiper motor control
MOTIX™ single half-bridge ICs (NovalithIC™) provide cost-optimized solutions for protected high-current PWM motor drives with very low board space consumption. Infineon MOTIX™ single half-bridge ICs (NovalithIC™) include a complete low-ohmic-protected half-bridge in a single package. This MOTIX™ ICs family has the capability to switch high frequency PWM while providing overcurrent, overvoltage, and overtemperature protection. The numerous protection and diagnosis features, low path resistance and high-current limit of the MOTIX™ (NovalithIC™) BTN99xyLV family make it ideal for safety relevant applications. Moreover, Infineon's MOTIX™ H-bridge driver ICs family enables functional safety and comfort features for a wide range of smart two-phase DC motor control applications.
Compact BLDC windshield wiper motor control
Wipers have very specific requirements. Infineon´s integrated drivers, MOTIX™ MCU embedded power ICs, provide cost-efficient solutions for a high-performance windshield wiper system. Embedded power ICs offer intelligent power-saving modes including stop and sleep mode and support energy management on demand (stand by). In addition, they address the demand for increased memory with 256 KB flash with the 14-bit sigma-delta ADC and with TMR sensors that enables the customer to have a cost solution and wiper angle precision at the same time.

With the TLE5012 series based on GMR technology, Infineon provides a family of digital magnetic angle sensors that enable precise angle measurement as well as functional safety in accordance with an ISO 26262-ready development. The sensors have a small angular error of less than 1°C overtemperature in their entire service life. Dual-channel TMR bridge angle sensors, TLE5501 products, also meet your wiper design requirements and realize cost-efficient solutions with precise rotation sensing. For motor commutation, high-precision hall switches in a small package will be a perfect fit for your wiper design.
