Infineon focuses on two major wireless charging technologies, inductive and resonant, and offers abundant components and safe turnkey solutions for use in consumer, industrial and automotive applications, covering from a few watts up to several kilowatts. Our solutions include power MOSFETs, wireless charging ICs, microcontrollers, gate driver ICs, and authentication ICs. As an example, our OPTIGA™ Trust Charge authentication ICs are offered in both 15 W and 50 W output power variants.
Infineon offers a broad portfolio of comprehensive solutions for devices with wireless charging functionality. Components adhere to the latest Qi2 and proprietary inductive charging standards and offer highly integrated yet scalable solutions across the industrial, automotive, medical, and commercial sectors. Within this portfolio, two options arise: choose either Infineon solutions, or Infineon & partner solutions depending on your system needs.. Either way, in order to secure you, your data, and your devices, Infineon provides the proper components and solutions to achieve foreign object detection (FOD) and authentication for Qi standards.

Resonant wireless charging offers significant user advantages that make it an enticing prospect for future technology. Unlike inductive charging, resonant wireless power transfer does not require the transmitter and receiver to be physically touching, instead permitting power transference within a flexible proximal distance from the transmitter. A resonant charger also allows for multiple devices of varying size and power requirements to be charged simultaneously. This flexibility and superior user convenience will prove increasingly important as the number of wirelessly chargeable devices continues to expand.
Infineon offers a complete portfolio of components to meet the needs of the two primary topologies for a wireless resonant charging circuit: Class-D (full-bridge or half-bridge) and Class-E (single-ended or differential). Infineon also overcomes the challenges of operating at high transmission frequencies with the CoolGaN™ range of industry-leading gallium-nitride-based technology, offering exceptionally low parasitic capacitance and reduced overall system cost.
