Air purifiers - Smart and efficient air quality improvement
Innovative sensors and efficient motor control solutions for improved air circulation and an intuitive user experience
Breathing in fresh, clean air has never been more vital for our health — and the next generation of air purifiers lets you take air quality to a whole new level. Today, the best smart air purifiers boast intelligent features like voice control, apps that allow you to monitor particle levels, and the ability to schedule cleanings days in advance.
Essentially, air purifiers use a motor drive to operate a fan. This fan pulls in air, pushes it through multiple filter stages and UV-C light, and releases it back into the room. It takes time to filter all the air in a room, which is why these units usually operate continuously, making low energy consumption essential. And since they operate in living spaces, low noise and vibration are also significant. Sensors measure air quality, detect presence and recognize gestures.. Connectivity to integrate the air purifier into a smart home remote control can be achieved through Wi-Fi while the user can interact with the device through a modern Human-Machine Interface (HMI).
Infineon's components and system solutions will bring more intelligence to modern air purifiers, letting them securely sense, control, and connect. CIPOS™ IPMs are the optimal solution for highly integrated fan motor drives, while discrete solutions are the best choice whenever the layout flexibility and thermal performance optimization are the major factors. They can all be combined with iMOTION™ products for dedicated motor control. For the auxiliary power supply, the CoolSET™ rounds up our power portfolio by offering increased robustness and performance. Infineon's Discrete IGBT products are designed for power factor correction and motor control, combined with 32-bit PSoC™ 6 Arm® Cortex®-M4 / M0+ microcontrollers for system control, AIROC™ Wi-Fi + Bluetooth® Combos, and XENSIV™ sensors to enable highly compact, robust and reliable systems that consume less power and offer a rich user interface.
CIPOS™ are highly integrated, compact power modules designed to drive motors in home appliances, fans, pumps, and general-purpose drives. These energy-efficient intelligent power modules integrate the latest power semiconductor and IC technology. They are divided into the compact, standard, and performance families: CIPOS™ Nano, CIPOS ™ Micro, CIPOS™ Tiny, CIPOS ™ Mini, and CIPOS™ Maxi, with different semiconductors in different packages and different voltage and current classes.
iMOTION™ is a digital motor controller family of highly integrated products to control a variable speed drive. It integrates all control and analog interface functions required for sensorless field-oriented control (FOC) of PM motors using DC-link or leg shunt current measurements. They also feature Infineon's patented and field-proven motor control engine (MCE), which frees the motor control algorithm development process from software coding. Implementing a variable-speed drive is reduced to configuring the MCE for the specific motor.
CoolSET™ AC-DC integrated power stages with a quasi-resonant switching scheme offer increased robustness and excellent performance. Infineon's fixed frequency CoolSET™ provides higher efficiency and lower switching frequency at medium and light loads, enabled by an integrated frequency step-down.
PSoC® 6 microcontrollers (MCUs) bridge the gap between expensive, power-hungry application processors and low integration microcontrollers. The ultra-low-power PSoC® 6 MCU features an Arm® Cortex® M4 for high-performance AI/ML tasks such as _FP match algorithm, TFT LCD driver, voice recognition and motor control, and an Arm® Cortex® M0+ for low power tasks System control, BLE, Capsense or security processing. With built-in security, your IoT system is protected. The built-in Capsense technology allows you to easily implement robust touch control of buttons or displays.
Our AIROC™ Wi-Fi & Combos integrate IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax WLAN and Bluetooth® 5.x in a single-chip solution to enable small-form-factor IoT designs for long-range connectivity. The combo solutions are available for both 1x1 SISO with up to 600 Mbps PHY data rates and 2x2 MIMO with up to 1.2 Gbps PHY data rates. These solutions can be coupled with external MCUs from popular vendors or Linux on application processors to implement a complete Wi-Fi + Bluetooth® system.
XENSIV™ sensors help record the most crucial parameters of a device's status to collect the necessary data and enable monitoring of the condition of devices in a building. Predictive maintenance enables a data-driven approach to predict and preventing device failures based on pattern recognition and intelligent software models.
OPTIGA™ Trust hardware security solutions based on a high-end security controller optimized for connected devices respond to a growing focus on embedded systems amongst attackers. It provides highly flexible, high-performance, and secured access to any major cloud provider.
600 V RC-D2 with the monolithically integrated diode offers performance, controllability, and reliability improvements compared to the RC-DF. The RC-D2 is also the first IGBT family to introduce the SOT-223 package to further improve the price by having a smaller package pin-to-pin compatible and replaceable with the DPAK package, fitting on the same footprint.
Gate driver IC solutions are the expert's choice. We offer three-phase gate drivers, six channels in a package with three independent half-bridges. We also provide three-phase gate driver ICs with advanced Infineon silicon on insulator (SOI) technologies. With excellent ruggedness and noise immunity, these gate drivers are perfect for motor drives, home appliances, and battery-powered applications.
