Machine Vision
Machine Vision in Industrial Automation systems
Modern industrial automation systems make use of machine vision (MV) system at their factory floor to control processes, quality, throughput or deviations in manufacturing process. Machine vision typically is a collaboration of hardware and software, based on object or pattern recognition. Artificial intelligence combined with machine learning results in a manufacturing process that achieves highest productivity, lowers production costs and helps achieve repeatable outputs. Suitable hardware forms the basis for image acquisition and processing. Data processing requires memory - Infineon’s wide range of memory products include NOR Flash, pSRAM, SRAM, nvSRAM and F-RAM with densities from 4 Kbit to 4 Gbit to meet this requirement. With unmatched quality and long-term supply contracts, as well as a strong commitment to future investments in new technologies, Infineon will continue to lead the industry for decades to come.
The differentiated portfolio of volatile and non-volatile memories includes: the SEMPER™ family of safe and reliable NOR Flash memories, the EXCELON™ family of ultra-low power, high performance and reliable F-RAM products, and our HYPERBUS™ interface-based HYPERFLASH™ NOR Flash and HYPERRAM™ pSRAM memories. Multi-chip approaches combining Flash and RAM memories on a single small footprint along HYPERBUS interfacing.
Cost-efficient camera or RADAR sensor systems typically transfer image data via USB to an industrial PC for complex image analytics in real time. Infineon’ s ARM9 based USB controller portfolio offers connectivity up to USB 3.0 at transfer rates of 5Gbps along 512 KB of embedded RAM and various serial interfaces.
In this online course, you will learn why ESD protection is increasingly important and how Infineon ESD protection devices work.

In this training you will:
- Understand the need for an expansion memory
- Recognize the key attributes designers look for in an expansion memory
- Describe the challenges with existing expansion memory options
Do you know what industrial automation is? Join us on this journey through the world of factory automation and find out how semiconductor solutions help factories become smart! Modern industries typically require many coordinated single steps to accomplish a finished product or any activity flow. Imagine this with no automation in place: any high volume outputs or uninterrupted courses of action at a high level of quality and in a short time would not be possible, would it?
Infineon’s EZ-USB™ FX3 is the industry’s most versatile USB peripheral controller, which can add a USB 5Gbps connectivity to any system.
Get to know it's potential applications, features and development tools.
