CY7113
The CY7113 EZ-PD™ PMG1-S3 prototyping kit is a development platform to design products which can be powered from a high-voltage USB PD port, and also need a microcontroller with CAPSENSE™ capability to implement different features. This kit implements USB PD sink capability. It also supports two self-capacitance-based CAPSENSE™ buttons and one 5-segment slider.
Note: The PMG1-S3 MCU is capable of supporting 140 W (28 V, 5A) of USB PD operation and the kit is designed to support the same.
The CY7113 EZ-PD™ PMG1-S3 prototyping kit is based on the EZ-PD™ PMG1-S3 microcontroller (CYPM1311-48LQXI). This is an ARM Cortex-M0+ based controller with 256-KB flash and 32-KB SRAM. It implements a complete Type-C USB-PD transceiver and supports 26 GPIOs of which, some of them can be re-purposed to support SCB (serial communication block) functions such as I2C, UART & SPI. CapSense is supported on 16 pins in PMG1-S3 via a CAPSENSE™ Sigma-Delta (CSD) block.
The CY7113 EZ-PD™ PMG1-S3 Prototyping Kit provides easy access to all the I/Os of the PMG1-S3 microcontroller in a breadboard-compatible format. It also allows functional verification of CAPSENSE™ with two self-capacitance-based CAPSENSE™ buttons and one 5-segment slider.
The kit includes Infineon's KitProg programmer and debugger. KitProg can program and debug the target PMG1-S3 microcontroller via SWD using ModusToolbox™ or CYPRESS™ programmer. KitProg also supports USB-UART bridge and USB-I2C bridge features.
The kit design allows users to snap-off the KitProg from the EZ-PD™ PMG1-S3 board and use them independently.
Application development on CY7113 EZ-PD™ PMG1-S3 prototyping kit can be done using ModusToolbox™. ModusToolbox™ is a set of multi-platform development tools and a comprehensive suite of gitHub-hosted firmware. The development tools include eclipse based IDE, configurators and programming tools. The firmware includes PDL (peripheral drivers), middleware including USB PD stack and example projects.
