PSOC™ 4 HV PA subcategories
PSOC™ 4 high voltage precision analog (HVPA) is a cutting-edge device that has been fully integrated into a programmable embedded system, providing outstanding battery monitoring and management capabilities. This device boasts an Arm® Cortex® M0+ processor, high precision analog subsystems, and high voltage susbsystems, which ensure precise and accurate battery monitoring. One of the greatest features of this device is its programmable and reconfigurable analog and digital blocks that provide flexibility and versatility.
PSOC™ 4 HVPA is an excellent choice for automotive applications, as it is automotive electronics council (AEC)-Q100 qualified. This device can operate directly from a 12 V or 24 V battery and can tolerate up to 42 V, making it an ideal solution for various automotive applications. It also features an integrated LIN transceiver and ADC input voltage divider.
Key features of PSOC™ 4 HVPA family
The 32-bit MCU subsystem is a highly advanced microcontroller unit that offers an impressive range of features, making it ideal for demanding applications. The subsystem features a 24 MHz or 48 MHz Arm® Cortex® M0+ CPU with a DMA controller that provides fast and efficient data transfer.
Moreover, the subsystem includes two precision ΔΣ ADCs (16-20+ bits), which provide high resolution and accuracy for analog measurements. The high-voltage subsystem operates directly off 12 V or 24 V batteries and tolerates up to 42 V, making it suitable for a variety of automotive and industrial applications.
The PSOC™ 4 HVPA is designed to offer functional safety for ASIL-B and will be developed according to the development process of ISO 26262 for ASIL-B as a safety element out of context. The subsystem includes four 16-bit timer/counter/pulse width modulator (TCPWM) blocks, enabling precise timing and pulse width modulation.
Additionally, the subsystem offers clock sources with up to ±2% accuracy up to 49.152 MHz internal main oscillator (IMO). For communication, there is one independent run-time reconfigurable serial communication block (SCB) with re-configurable I2C, SPI, UART, or LIN secondary functionality. The subsystem also includes up to 11 GPIOs as part of the I/O subsystem, making it easy to interface with other devices.
Finally, the subsystem operates at a temperature range of -40°C to +125°C (E grade), making it suitable for use in harsh environments.
System benefits of PSOC™ 4 HVPA family
With up to 128 KB of code flash with ECC, up to 8 KB of data flash with ECC, and up to 8 KB of SRAM with ECC, PSOC™ 4 HVPA provides ample space for storing data and constants.
The precision analog subsystem of PSOC™ 4 HVPA is equipped with two precision ΔΣ ADCs (16-20+ bits) and current and voltage channels with automatic gain. The voltage channel comes with an HV input divider, which helps in accurate voltage measurement. The temperature and diagnostic channels support both internal and external temperature sensing. Digital filtering, accumulators, and threshold comparisons are provided on all channels.
PSOC™ 4 HVPA is available in a 32-QFN package with wettable flanks, which makes it very easy to solder. It also features up to 9 GPIOs that allow for easy interfacing with other devices. This device is an excellent choice for anyone looking to develop a robust battery monitoring and management system.
