PSOC™ Fingerprint FPG1
Overview
Fingerprint based biometric user authentication provides the most convenient and secure method for personal identification and authentication. This brand-new microcontroller provides fingerprint technology, including Precise’s proprietary fingerprint algorithm, Precise Bio Match, to allow various applications, including automated adjustments of driver settings in vehicles.
The controllers also incorporate: Field upgradable Firmware, On Sensor image optimization, Low Power programmable finger detection, Optimized for TRAVEO™ T2G, AURIX™MCU, Automotive qualified Sensor.
Key features
Uncoated Fingerprint Sensor :
- BGA package consisting of a die mounted on a polymer substrate sensor
- 8.0 x 8.0mm Sensing Area, ODM adds surface coating
- 340 DPI 107 x 107 pixel array at 8-bits per pixel resolution
- 32-bit ARM® Cortex®-M0 CPU
- Strong 256-bit AES encryption secures the system interface from the sensor to the host processor
- Self-calibration and self-testing
- Fake-finger rejection (anti-spoofing) & Programmable finger detection timing (wake-on-finger)
- Navigation
Excellent biometric system Performance
- Fingerprint image capture and transfer to host processor in less than 175 ms.
- Finger down to match time in less than 375 ms
- < 1% FRR at FAR 1:50K
- 360 degree finger placement
Biometric functions
- Enrollment-Template storage up to 15 fingerprints
- Verification and identification up to 15 users
- User and fingerprint management (add/delete).
Embedded Environment
- 200KB of flash and 64KB of RAM ,ability to import and export template securely.
- configurable security levels (1:10K to 1:250K)
- Simples and secure communication protocol with SPI Interface (slave bit rates up to 7.8 Mbps)
Operating temperature range –40 °C to +85 °C
Packages
- 73 BGA package, 8.87 × 9.26 mm rectangular sensor, 8.025 × 8.025 mm active sensing area
Sytem Benefit
- Sensor-on-substrate architecture, the size of the sensor is independent of the size of the sensor controller chip, which is mounted underneath.
- Substrate based Fingerprint Sensor
- Sensing area decoupled from silicon
- Ability to create different size sensors with same silicon
- No need to reduce active area to save cost
- Customized Coatings and covers can be applied on sensing surface
